Kronen, Handtaschen, High Heels und Ringe. „Shopping Queen“, so lautet der Name der knallig pink verwendeten Süßigkeiten, die im Inneren der Installation in einem ornamentalen Herzmuster, mit Watte und Latex umhüllt, angeortnet sind. Die Arbeit „Candy Island“ wirft einen satirischen, feministischen Blick auf die patriarchalen Gendernormen die in Produkten der Gegenwart Ausdruck finden. Für die Installation montierte die Künstlerin ein Rohr von der Decke an dessen Ende ein Waschmaschinengehäuse befestigt ist. Die Öffnung diente den Besucher:innen dazu, mit dem Kopf im Inneren der Trommel zu verschwinden. Dort werden sie umhüllt von einem süßen Geruch von Kirsche und eine LED-Discokugel lässt es zu einem reizüberflutenden Spektakel werden. Das Objekt weckt verschiedenste Assoziationsketten und wirft einige Fragen auf. Beschreibt es eine abstrakte Darstellung eines Uterus? Werden Frauen durch Werbung und Produkterzeugnisse auf ihre Reproduktionsfähigkeit reduziert? Wird die romantische Liebe ausverkauft?

Candy Island
Crowns, handbags, high heels and rings. „Shopping Queen“, is the name of the bright pink candy that is used. Which are arranged inside the installation in an ornamental heart pattern, wrapped in wadding and latex. The work „Candy Island“ gives a satirical, feminist look at the patriarchal gender norms that find expression in contemporary products. For the installation, the artist mounted a pipe from the ceiling with a washing machine housing attached to the end. The opening served the visitors to disappear with their heads inside the drum. There they are enveloped by a sweet smell of cherry, and an LED disco ball turns the interior into a stimulus-flooded spectacle. The object inspires the most diverse chains of associations. An abstract representation of a uterus? Are women reduced to their reproductive capacity by advertising and product products? Is romantic love sold out.
